Two Bipartisan Recycling Bills Reintroduced in Congress
Two bipartisan bills seeking to strengthen our nation’s recycling and composting systems have been reintroduced in the 118th Congress. Last year, both bills passed the Senate and companion legislation was introduced in the House but did not pass. The Recycling and Composting Accountability Act (RCAA) and the Recycling Infrastructure and Accessibility Act of 2023 (RIAA) were reintroduced with bipartisan sponsors Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.), Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Senator John Boozman (R-Ark.).Full story -

Printing Occupational Injury/Illness Continue Downward Trend
Workplace injuries and illnesses in printing operations are declining. The latest statistics available from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) show that the total number of workplace injuries and illnesses are down 1,000 reported incidents from 2020 to 2021. Much of the reduction was due to a drop in respiratory illness cases because of the decline in COVID-19 infections.Full story -
PFAS Dominating Federal and State Environmental Actions
The pressure is being turned up on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at both the state and federal level with legislation and regulation. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed several regulations aimed at reducing exposure to PFAS, and several states have recently enacted restrictions on the use of potentially harmful PFAS in everyday products.Full story -
