  • Illinois Mandatory Paid Leave Law Coming in 2024

    Illinois has a new mandatory paid leave law, the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, that will become effective on January 1, 2024. While other states also have mandatory paid leave, Illinois joins just Nevada and Maine in a law that requires no explanation from employees about why they are taking time off under the statute. All companies with at least one employee are covered by the law.
