Criminals are adept at flooding third-party marketplaces with counterfeit goods that undermine legitimate U.S. businesses and can put consumers in harm’s way. These bad actors use the anonymity provided by online marketplaces to sell knockoff and often defective versions of well recognized consumer products. Much of these counterfeit products come from China where counterfeiting laws are largely unenforced.
