Maine’s PFAS Product Reporting Deadline is January 1, 2023

Beginning January 1, 2023, manufacturers in Maine must report information about products that have intentionally added chemicals, specifically perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) substances. This law, called Stop Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances Pollution (38 MRS § 1614), was passed in July 2021. The law also prohibits the sale or distribution of PFAS-containing products that are not reported and bans the use of intentionally added PFAS in any product as of January 1, 2030. -
