    The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is modernizing how product safety compliance information is collected at the border by implementing a new electronic filing, or eFiling, system for certificates of compliance. This initiative significantly affects importers and manufacturers of children’s products, who must issue Children’s Product Certificates (CPCs) or a General Conformance Certificate (GCC) demonstrating compliance with all applicable safety rules.

  • EUDR Changes… Again!

    The European Union’s landmark anti-deforestation law has undergone yet another round of delays and simplifications. Initially passed in 2023, the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is part of the EU’s broader effort to sever links between European consumption and global deforestation. Under the latest round of changes, the date of applicability was pushed back by one year and large companies will now have until December 30, 2026 to comply and an additional 6-month extension was granted for micro and small operators who will now have until June 30, 2027.

    Every year, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) drops a list highlighting where industries are not meeting OSHA’s regulations. The list, the Top 10 Most Frequently Cited Workplace Violations, identifies the combined violations for all the industries regulated by OSHA for fiscal year 2025 (October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025).
  • EPA Small Quantity Generator Renotification Requirement – Due September 1, 2025

    Under the 2016 Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires all Small Quantity Generators (SQGs) of hazardous waste to re-notify EPA or their state environmental agency of their generator status every four years. This requirement helps maintain accurate data for compliance assistance, oversight, and outreach activities. Because many printing operations are classified as SQGs, this is a new and relevant requirement that needs to be met.

After not being revised since 2023, in May 2025 OSHA revamped its Site-Specific Targeting (SST) inspection program.

    On February 27, the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) announced that it is ceasing enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) while it crafts a new set of regulations that will ultimately narrow the scope of the reporting regime. It’s a huge win for Main Street, particularly as the CTA’s reporting requirements were scheduled to take effect once again beginning March 21.

    On January 23, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a stay on the injunction granted by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Texas Top Cop Shop, Inc. v. Garland, et al., commonly referred to as the Texas Top Cop Case. It is important to note that the Supreme Court’s stay does not constitute a decision on the underlying merits of the case, which remains under review in the Fifth Circuit.
