Maine DEP Excludes Packaging Reporting Under the PFAS Reporting Law

The Maine DEP established a reporting requirement that applied to food packaging and packaging components of products that contain Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS). However, the DEP has changed its position and is now stating that packaging for a product “is not required to be reported” under the state’s new PFAS notification and reporting requirement. The change in position by the DEP is welcomed and should provide some relief for many companies. -
