Illinois Mandatory Paid Leave Law Coming in 2024
Illinois has a new mandatory paid leave law, the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, that will become effective on January 1, 2024. While other states also have mandatory paid leave, Illinois joins just Nevada and Maine in a law that requires no explanation from employees about why they are taking time off under the statute. All companies with at least one employee are covered by the law.Full story -

PRINTING United Alliance Opposes EPA’s PFAS TRI Reporting Proposal
The Alliance went on the record in a coalition letter opposing the EPA's proposed changes to Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) reporting in the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) and supplier notification requirements under Section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA). The Alliance is concerned that listing the specified 189 PFAS chemicals as “Chemicals of Special Concern” with no de minimis reporting threshold would have a significant impact on its printer and supplier members.Full story -
