With the turn of the calendar for 2023, the number of bills introduced at the state level to implement an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program shot up from previous years. EPR programs for printed paper and packaging are a top priority for many states, and for 2023, more states have introduced EPR legislation. These EPR bills are viewed as a way to have the producer pay for the recycling of their product or packaging and to promote a larger circular economy strategy, which includes recycled content mandates.Full story -
