Beginning November 1, 2022, textiles along with mattresses are no longer allowed to be put in landfills in Massachusetts. This ban is included in the 2030 Solid Waste Master Plan: Working Together Toward Zero Waste which establishes goals to reduce trash disposal 30 percent statewide by 2030 and 90 percent by 2050.
