At the end of September, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law legislation that prohibits the manufacture, distribution, and sale of textiles and cosmetics containing Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in California. The specific law, Assembly Bill No. 1817, which bans regulated PFAS in textile articles will become effective on January 1, 2025.
