New York City Issues Final Rule about Use of Artificial Intelligence in Human Resources

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in hiring is not new, but regulating it is becoming more common. Since 2020, New York City has been working on an ordinance, New York City Local Law 144, to address the potential bias of the algorithms used to select candidates from a job-applicant pool. The ordinance finally made it to “Final Rule” stage, which was adopted on April 23, 2023. -
