PRINTING United Alliance is pleased to announce it has joined the Manufacturers for Sensible Regulations that is seeking achievable and balanced regulations that address environmental challenges. The coalition was launched by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), members of NAM’s Council of Manufacturing Associations (CMA), and the Conference of State Manufacturers Associations to address the current impact of the regulatory onslaught coming from federal agencies that threaten the viability of manufacturing companies and the jobs they provide.

In response to the extreme heat wave experienced in the Pacific Northwest in early summer of 2021, the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) took action to protect outdoor workers from exposure to high heat by establishing emergency temporary rules. L&I had an existing outdoor heat exposure rule and to enhance the rule, they updated their outdoor heat exposure requirements. The new requirements will take effect on July 17, 2023.
