    PRINTING United Alliance participated in a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Small Business Advocacy Review Panel as a Small Entity Representative on September 14, 2023 to provide advice and recommendations to the Panel regarding the upcoming proposed regulations for C.I. Pigment Violet 29 (PV29). The regulations are the second of two steps that will be designed to protect employees from the hazards associated with exposure to PV29.

    In a decision issued on August 25, 2023, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) established a new procedure that affects how a company must respond to union organizing. In Cemex Construction Materials Pacific, the NLRB stated that if a union claims to have at least a 50% +1 majority of the employees supporting unionization, the employer must either grant “voluntary” recognition without an NLRB election, or it must file its own NLRB petition seeking an election. If the company does neither of these things, it risks having the union file an unfair labor practices action against it.

    Rolling Meadows, IL, October 4, 2023 – Komori America—Komori America today announced that Komori Corporation will celebrate its 100th anniversary on October 20, 2023. Komori was founded 100 years ago in 1923 by brothers Zenshichi and Yoshikazu Komori, from the rubble of the Great Kanto Earthquake. The Komori brothers originally founded their new company as Komori Machinery Works, focusing on manufacturing manual lithographic presses. In 1928, after many years of litho evolution, Komori developed its first sheetfed offset press. From this first press to the introduction of the Lithrone GX40/G40 advance series of offset presses announced in 2020, offset printing presses have been Komori’s core business.
