PRINTING United Alliance Urges Congress to Keep Small Business Tax Deduction

Small businesses are facing a dramatic tax increase starting January 1, 2026, when a 20 percent tax deduction for income expires. The deduction was included in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017. TCJA allowed small businesses structured as pass-through entities, like sole proprietorships, S corporations, partnerships, or limited liability companies, to deduct up to 20 percent of their business income. However, unless Congress makes the deduction permanent, the significant small business tax savings will expire in approximately two years, on December 31, 2025. -
Small Business Jobs Act Moves Forward in the House

On June 13, the House Ways and Means Committee voted along party lines to approve H.R. 3937, the Small Business Jobs Act (SBJA). This is great news for small businesses across the nation and for the printing industry which is primarily comprised of small businesses. According to the primary sponsor, Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO-08), the legislation will help strengthen small businesses navigating price spikes, worker shortages, and supply chain failures by cutting IRS red tape, expanding jobs and investment, and supporting rural communities. -
