PRINTING United Alliance joined over 150 small business organizations in a letter released by the Family Business Coalition (FBC) and more than 110 members of the Family Business Estate Tax Coalition (FBETC) in a letter of support for legislation reintroduced by Senator John Thune (R-SD) that would permanently repeal the federal estate tax. -
And Just Like That, the NLRB Changes the Independent Contractor Standard

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) recently changed the legal standard to decide whether a worker is an employee or an independent contractor (IC). On June 13, 2023, the NLRB issued a decision, The Atlanta Opera, Inc. that reverts the IC analysis to a prior standard. The standard has changed several times and may change again in August when the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) issues a revised IC rule. -
