U.S. and China relations have grown increasingly tense over various issues, including maritime shipping. In an effort to curtail China’s growing maritime influence, U.S. Representatives Dusty Johnson (R-SD) and John Garamendi (D-CA) introduced the Ocean Shipping Reform Implementation Act of 2023 (H.R. 1836) to bolster the 2022 Ocean Shipping Reform Act. It will provide greater scrutiny of China’s impact on the ocean shipping industry. -
