    PRINTING United Alliance teamed up with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Air Management Program to develop several new fact sheets addressing air permit requirements for digital printing devices that are installed in Wisconsin.
  • Maryland Enacts Paid Family Leave Law

    A paid family leave law was enacted in Maryland in April. The Maryland Time to Care Act of 2022 (MTTCA), will be phased in over the next several years. The new law applies to all employers with 15 or more employees, including government authorities, as well as all employees in Maryland (no matter the size of the employer), and all self-employed people who chose to participate in the program.
  • Washington State Safety Law for Staffing Agencies and Companies Employing Temporary Workers

    Washington State passed a law in July 2021 that creates detailed protections for employees who are placed with companies through staffing agencies. The law covers the staffing agency that has employees who are temporarily placed with companies for work assignments, and also covers worksite employers where the staffing agency employees are working.
  • New York City Wage Transparency Law Enacted

    The New York City Council enacted a pay transparency law that is effective on November 1, 2022, that requires employers that seek employees living or working in New York City to include the minimum and maximum wage and salary information for all job postings.
  • PRINTING United Alliance Develops Exclusive Compliance Toolkit to Address New Air Pollution Rules for Printers in Ohio

    Due to the ozone nonattainment status of the Cincinnati, Ohio area, Ohio EPA has imposed new air regulation requirements for printing operations. Printing operations located in Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren Counties will now have to meet the regulations which became effective at the end of March. The air regulations, apply to lithographic, letterpress, flexographic, screen printing, digital, and rotogravure operations located in these counties.
