Governor Newsom Vetoes California PFAS Product Disclosure Legislation

On September 15, California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill that would have required collection and reporting of information on products and substances sold or brought into the state containing per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). A.B. 2247 would have required the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) to implement a publicly accessible database of information about PFAS and products containing intentionally added PFAS by January 1, 2026.
