PRINTING United Alliance announces the launch of a new e-newsletter dedicated to helping promotional products suppliers. Led by a team with a background in serving the printing industry, Promo Impressions aims to help those who print, decorate, or mark promotional products via industry-leading education and resources. Through a bi-weekly e-newsletter, Promo Impressions will offer its audience educational and how-to content, as well as technology insights, to help suppliers, distributors, and other adjacent print operations customize promotional items. This includes everything from drinkware and tech items to event signage and more.

On January 23, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a stay on the injunction granted by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Texas Top Cop Shop, Inc. v. Garland, et al., commonly referred to as the Texas Top Cop Case. It is important to note that the Supreme Court’s stay does not constitute a decision on the underlying merits of the case, which remains under review in the Fifth Circuit.

Just like clockwork, the start of a new year brings two important Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordkeeping requirements that printing operations must be aware of and comply with if they qualify. These involve the completion, posting and submission of certain separate, but related, recordkeeping forms. The two key dates are February 1 and March 2.

BETHLEHEM, PA—Two new DTF capable conveyor dryers from Vastex protect shop personnel from ethylene glycol, a toxic synthetic fluid emitted by DTF adhesives as a vapor during the curing process, it was announced by Mark Vasilantone, president. Engineered specifically for DTF curing, in which adhesives off-gas large volumes of glycol, the new dryers draw filtered makeup air through the top-center of the heating chamber, and through its double-wall top and sides, serving to cool the outer skin and chamber edges for operator safety.

Mex, Switzerland, 23rd January 2025: The upgrades to the die-cutter are designed to help converters save set up time and resources by optimizing machine tooling and increasing sheet register capabilities. These include the new ACCUPLATEN machine platen and ZERO PATCHING plate, which minimize or compensate platen deformation, as well as POWER REGISTER Plus, which reduces sheet waste by introducing a new register mark registration system.
