System Certifications

Independent Validation for Production Print Systems
System Certifications from PRINTING United Alliance provide independent, standards-aligned validation of production print systems. Each certification evaluates a defined system configuration—including engine, DFE, software, and materials where applicable—against established performance criteria to verify measurable color accuracy, consistency, production stability, and capabilities. Designed for suppliers operating in global, standards-driven markets, System Certification strengthens solutions positioning and reduces buyer uncertainty through third-party verification.

Why Suppliers Participate

  • Differentiation
Independent validation provides a measurable point of distinction in competitive sales environments. Certified systems signal verified performance—not self-asserted claims.

  • Standards Alignment
Certification supports alignment with ISO-referenced frameworks and G7-based reference conditions—increasingly important in global print markets.

  • Risk Reduction
Printers investing in certified systems gain confidence they will meet defined performance tolerances in real production environments.

  • Sales Enablement
Certification strengthens RFP positioning, technical validation conversations, and procurement discussions.

  • Public Recognition
Certified systems are listed on printing.org and granted digital badge usage rights.

How the Certification Process Works

System Certification follows a consistent structure across all certification pathways:

  1. Select the appropriate certification
  2. Submit application and initial evaluation fee
  3. Provide system configuration documentation
  4. Produce required test output
  5. Independent third-party laboratory evaluation
  6. Certification awarded upon successful completion
  7. Annual license maintains certified status

Certification remains valid for the designated system configuration as long as the annual certification license is maintained. Major hardware or software upgrades require recertification.
