Position Summary:
The Senior Vice President, Membership is responsible for driving the growth, engagement, and retention of PRINTING United Alliance’s member base. This role leads the development and execution of membership strategy, ensuring strong value delivery, increased member satisfaction, and sustained revenue growth. As a key leader within the organization, the Senior Vice President, Membership oversees membership sales, retention, and engagement initiatives, while partnering cross-functionally to align programs, services, and communications with the evolving needs of the printing and graphic arts industry.
This position is remote within the United States and requires a work schedule aligned with Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Membership Growth & Strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive membership growth strategy, including acquisition, retention, and expansion.
Identify new market segments, membership models, and value propositions to increase reach and relevance.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to membership growth and engagement.
Sales & Revenue Generation
Lead membership sales efforts, including new member acquisition and upsell opportunities.
Develop pricing strategies, membership tiers, and promotional campaigns to drive revenue.
Collaborate with marketing to optimize lead generation, conversion, and member onboarding.
Member Engagement & Retention
Design and implement strategies to enhance member experience, satisfaction, and long-term retention.
Oversee member onboarding, engagement programs, and lifecycle management.
Utilize data and feedback (surveys, usage metrics, etc.) to continuously improve member value.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with teams across events, education, research, and advocacy to align offerings with member needs.
Ensure membership insights inform organizational strategy and program development.
Work closely with marketing and communications to ensure consistent, compelling messaging.
Data, Analytics & Systems
Leverage CRM and analytics tools to manage membership pipelines, track engagement, and forecast performance.
Develop dashboards and reporting to provide visibility into membership trends and outcomes.
Drive data-informed decision-making across the membership function.
Industry & Relationship Leadership
Serve as a key external ambassador to members, prospects, and industry stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and strategic partners.
Represent PRINTING United Alliance at industry events and forums.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the membership team (sales, account management, engagement).
Build a high-performing, customer-focused culture with strong accountability for results.
Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and professional development pathways.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
10+ years of experience in membership, sales, business development, or related functions.
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and member/customer retention (must provide examples).
Strong leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
Experience with CRM systems and data-driven decision-making.
Preferred
Experience in associations, nonprofits, or member-based organizations.
Familiarity with the printing, manufacturing, or related industries.
Experience with multi-channel revenue models (membership, events, sponsorships, education).
