GPO Named One Of America's Best Employers For Veterans For The Second Year In A Row

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) has been named to the Forbes list of America’s Best Employers for Veterans 2023. The Agency was also recognized for this honor in 2022. GPO has a long-standing history of employing veterans dating back to the Civil War and currently employs a little more than 500 veterans who make up a third of the Agency’s workforce. For decades, the Agency has hosted an annual Veterans Day Program in recognition of the service and sacrifice of our GPO veteran teammates. This year, Army veteran and former Prisoner of War, Jessica Lynch was the guest speaker at the event. -

New NLRB Joint Employer Standard and Suggestions on Avoiding Joint Employer Status

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on October 25, 2023, issued the final rule setting out the Joint Employer Standard under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), which will go into effect on December 26, 2023. The Joint Employer Standard determines when a company is considered an employer of workers who may not have been hired by the company and are not on the company payroll.
