Ricoh RICOH Pro Z75 Earns PRINTING United Alliance Digital Press — Inkjet System Certification

PRINTING United Alliance has awarded Digital Press — Inkjet System Certification to the Ricoh RICOH Pro Z75 B2 Sheet-fed Inkjet Digital Press with Fiery Color Controller N-500, recognizing the system’s demonstrated ability to meet the program’s established requirements for high-quality digital inkjet production.

The certification marks an important achievement for Ricoh and for print service providers looking to invest in inkjet technology that can support demanding commercial print applications. PRINTING United Alliance’s Digital Press Certification program evaluates the performance of commercial inkjet production systems against specific print standards, considering the complete system configuration, including the digital front end, print engine, substrate, and inks. Certified systems must meet or exceed program requirements in areas including colorimetric accuracy, uniformity, repeatability, durability, and registration.

For printers, this certification provides added confidence that the evaluated system has undergone independent testing and demonstrated the ability to produce consistent, standards-based results. For manufacturers, certification offers a clear, third-party recognition of system capability that can be shared with customers and prospects evaluating production technology.

The certified Ricoh system includes the RICOH Pro Z75 B2 sheet-fed inkjet digital press paired with the Fiery Color Controller N-500. The RICOH Pro Z75 is an aqueous pigment B2 automatic perfecting sheet-fed digital press designed for commercial print applications. The system is capable of printing up to 4,500 sheets per hour on 23" x 29" sheets across a variety of coated and uncoated stocks.

The certified configuration used Explorer Gloss 100# with applied undercoat, Fiery N-500 software version 5.2.90.00 with Fiery Color Profiler Suite 5.6.1.04, and the Fiery ES-6000 spectrophotometer. The system was configured to achieve  GRACoL2013 CRPC6 with M1 measurement condition, supporting alignment to one of the most widely used industry reference print conditions for commercial print production.

As part of the certification process, the system was profiled through the Fiery workflow. This included calibration, linearization, benchmark verification, ICC profile creation, and verification of G7 grayscale, targeted, and colorspace performance using Curve4 Verify software. Together, these steps help document the specific printing conditions used to achieve the certified results and provide practical guidance for printers and customers seeking to understand or replicate similar output conditions.

PRINTING United Alliance’s Digital Press — Inkjet System Certification program is conducted through a defined testing process carried out by an independent third party laboratory. Manufacturers submit printed test forms according to program criteria, and those forms are evaluated by Rochester Institute of Technology’s Printing Applications Laboratory. Systems that pass the required testing are awarded certification by PRINTING United Alliance.

For print manufacturers and commercial printers, the certification of the RICOH Pro Z75 with Fiery Color Controller N-500 reinforces the continued advancement of production inkjet technology into applications where color accuracy, consistency, repeatability, and production performance are essential. As print buyers and brand stakeholders continue to expect predictable color across devices, substrates, and production environments, independently certified systems can play an important role in building confidence throughout the print supply chain.

The RICOH Pro Z75 certification further demonstrates how modern digital inkjet platforms are being evaluated not only for speed and productivity, but also for their ability to align with recognized print standards and real-world production expectations. For commercial printers considering B2 sheet-fed inkjet, this certification provides an additional benchmark when assessing technology for high-quality, standards-based print manufacturing.
