The Ball Four and Five Color Processes.

Details:

Year: 1953
Pages: 11

Summary:

As used here, four and five processes means reproduction with four or five coloured inks, none of them being black. Even if ideal three colour inks were obtainable, the available gamut still would be limited. Ball predicted that four colour inks, properly chosen, can give a wider range of colours, but still incomplete. Five colours, he concluded, would be all that would ever be needed.
