Previous papers have discussed the overall operation of the Scan-A-Color electronic color separator. This aspect is briefly reviewed as an introduction to a detailed description of some of the functions of the machine and post scanning techniques. Particular emphasis is given to the calculation of the black printer and the method of computing undercolor removal in this scanner. A novel 3 point screening technique used in halftoning Scan-A-Color separations is described.
