Summary:

Experiments with a supplementary controlled fog exposure give unexpected results when a halftone is made on lith-type film and may have practical value in controlling tone reproduction with either a gray or a magenta contact screen. The fogging exposure increases the effective speed of the film and reduces halftone contrast. However dot quality is reduced and the amount of control is therefore limited This technique is discussed in relation to other methods of control.
