Summary:

A basically new type of printing process using magnetism was developed originally for recording the answers from electronic computers, whose speed was limited by existing recording methods. Lines of numerals have been recorded in 10 millionths of a second. Scanned pictures have been recorded at a rate of 3 sq. in. per sec. Uses in typesetting, platemaking, typewriting, picture reproduction and duplication are anticipated. The method is too new to permit evaluation of all its possible uses. (PA 2206/53)
