Summary:

Improved equipment and materials and a new concept of color-reproduction requirements have led to a fast, economical, and reliable method of reproducing transparencies. The method is completely adaptable to conventional four-color process work by lithography. A complete system has been developed, including control aids, which represents a significant advancement in simplicity and standardization. Transparencies can be separated and ready for platemaking in less than one hour. The first proofs are consistently high in quality and require a minimum of handwork. Color reproductions produced by the new, direct-screening method are shown, together with pertinent data for their evaluation.
