 Conference Papers

The Papers Committee was pleased this year with the robust number of abstracts that were submitted for the 2017 conference. From these, thirty-seven papers and six posters were selected for the 2017 Annual Technical Conference in Houston, Texas. These papers will be falling under categories such as Color, Packaging, Print Process, and Workflow to name a few. We are also excited to have individuals from the industry and academia joining us from Canada, Germany, Hungary, India, and United Kingdom.

To see the list of papers and posters, please go to tagaatc.printing.org/program/papers.

The papers will begin to be presented on Monday, March 20. Posters will be presented in the break area during designated break periods.

Student Participation and Competitions

Student involvement has always played a part at the TAGA Annual Technical Conference. Through student chapters, universities send groups of students who compete for the Helmut Kipphan Cup by creating their own journal publications that contains students' research papers. While at the conference, students will be presenting their journals to attendees during breaks between sessions to promote their chapters' journals, answer questions, and network. During the Awards Ceremony on March 21, the chapters will be recognized and one will walk away with the prized Kipphan Cup. Other recognitions given to the chapters are for Technical Writing, Publication Design, Production Quality, and Electronic Publication. As with the grand prize, these awards are determined by the TAGA Board of Directors. Attendees Choice, another recognition for a student chapter, is decided by all of those in attendance.

Along with the Kipphan Cup, recognition will be given to the recipients of the Harvey Levenson Undergraduate and Dusty Rhodes Graduate Student Paper Awards. The recipients will also be able to present their papers as a poster during session breaks.
