An examination of the need for the graphic arts industry to develop some form of common digital exchange formats was first presented at TAGA's 1985 conference in St. Paul. Since that time this activity has been formalized under the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). This report will present an update on the Standards (DDES) for the graphic arts industry.
