Summary:

Artificial intelligence (AI) will find many applications within the printing and publishing industry. It is expected to fill a role complementary to procedural and algorithmic data processing. The more the tools develop, the more they will be integrated. Knowledge engineering (KE) means the opportunity of using knowledge instead of plain information. This means acquiring knowledge from live experts or systems, to form a knowledge base. A simplified model for the knowledge base contains a skill base (heuristics and transforms). These can then be connected to the users by the nodes of inference and the interpreter (objectives, goals, purposes) to arrive at what is called a complete expert
