Pages: 22

Summary:

The question can be studied by analyzing the main market sections and their chief technologies, in terms of the technological and economical viewpoints. Conventional printing technologies are being threatened by new printing technologies which are supposed to be faster and less expensive. It is concluded that top printed work, which needs at least 60 gray steps, cannot be threatened by new printing technologies. While it is difficult to compare new and old technologies, in the comparison of duplicator (printing on foil) and a toner system, the conventional printing technologies might be threatened by new ones. Formulas are provided for the break-even point and costs per single page.
