Progress of Komori PSS - Plate Scanning System

Details:

Year: 1987
Pages: 19

Summary:

As printing presses become faster and more productive, a reduction of makeready and press complexity has been demanded by industry. The Komori Plate Scanning System (PSS) come from a background in development toward simplicity and productivity which includes the Lithrone Series, Komori Monitoring System, and the Computerized Auto Register System. The mechanism of PSS can be roughly divided into camera, illumination, drive, control, and operation units. One of the features of the PSS mechanism lies in the sensor, which makes use of the newest CCD technology. Accuracy is extremely high. With PSS, data can be fed directly to PQC using a magnetic card, to which data was loaded without a converter. PSS accuracy is still dependent on some factors, including environmental conditions and the concentration level of the ink. PSS and PQC are provided with functions which are capable of compensation for some variation.
