Color Variability Associated With Printing GCR Color Separations

Details:

Year: 1986
Pages: 13

Summary:

An experimental test form including normal and GCR separations that were made from the same original was printed at varying ink levels. A sampling of the press sheets were measured with at colorimeter. It was found that in most cases the use of GCR resulted in reduced image color variation, but in some cases the use of GCR actually increased image color variation. In order to reduce the intra-image color shifts that can result from the use of GCR, it is recommended that high levels of GCR should be avoided.
