Validity and Limits of Colour Preproofing in Conversion Gravure

Color preproofing systems are discussed as a method of standardization on gravure printing in order to obtain higher quality levels and lower costs cutting down cylinders retouching times. Tonal and color rendition characteristics of colour preproofing systems are analyzed and discussed. A working method utilized for matching preproofs and printed paper in a gravure plant is described and results given.
