An Investigation of Color Variation as a Function of Register in Dot-on-Dot Multicolor Halftone Printing

Details:

Year: 1984
Pages: 20

Summary:

The problem of color variation in dot-on-dot multicolor printing has long been observed. Workers found that this problem is fundamentally due to misregistering of the overprinted halftone dots. A mathematical model is proposed to quantitatively predict the color shift as a function of register. It is also intended to determine the latitude of dot misplacement which produces color shifts that are not objectionable.
