Long Run Direct Imaged Laser Plate

Details:

Year: 1983
Pages: 15

Summary:

A unique system of laser platemaking using a thermally sensitive, non-silver imaging material is described. The laser transfers the coating from this material to an uncoated lithographic printing plate which is subsequently fused and processed to produce a high quality, long run plate. Recent research is described which indicates the ability to consistently achieve substantially long run using special processing chemistry and a second fusing process.
