State of the Industry Report 2026

Details:

Year: May 2026
Pages: 35

Summary:

This report draws on input from more than 250 printing companies to provide a balanced, front-line view of the state of the printing industry. Contributors include commercial printers, graphic and sign (wide-format) producers, and package and label printers. Annual sales range from less than $500,000 to more than $500 million.

Part one covers overall business conditions, how print buyer preferences are trending, the importance of print complements such as mailing, fulfillment, and data analytics, and capital investment rates.

Part two introduces AI-powered predictive analytics, the next frontier in trend analysis, forecasting, managing uncertainty, and managing risk.

Part three presents “must-dos,” or actions printing companies of any size or type can take to make what’s happening and what’s likely ahead an opportunity rather than a threat. These include a talent pipeline for the AI era, measuring the real impact of AI in customer service, and calculating customer health scores.
