Summary:

A series of laboratory and field tests related to the wash-up of printing press ink roller systems is described. The series of laboratory tests were run under controlled conditions through the use of an automatic ink roller wash-up system. The primary objective of these tests and the related analyses was to determine various wash-up parameters such as volume of solvent needed, optimum sequence of solvent application and wash-up blade actuation, time required to wash up, and effect of ink type. A secondary objective was to determine the effect of press width on these parameters.
