Pages: 23

Summary:

Two areas of water or fountain solution/ink measurement and structure are presented. The first part contains results from a series of physico-chemical measurements, including density, dielectric constants, magnetic resonance, and chemical analyses of ingredients carried out to better understand the nature of the interactions of water and fountain solution in the ink. In the second part, a coaxial capacitance system is described. This is being used on-line to determine the water concentration in ink over the range of 0 to 50 percent by weight with accuracies of better than one percent.
