Year: 1980
Pages: 40

Summary:

Keyboard typesetting systems for Chinese must have input systems that are easy to learn and fast to use. Output systems must have a trade-off between capital cost and the number of type styles available. This paper describes an input system, the photocomposition front and the output system. Input speeds on the order of 35 ideographs per minute have been achieved by some operators after several weeks of training and one day operating a facility at the Graphic Arts Research Foundation, Inc.
