Offset Cylinders for Continuous (or Seamless) Printing for Packaging, Wallpaper, Textile, Etc.

Whenever a continuous or seamless pattern is needed gravure has always been the dominant process. The cost of cylinder preparation is rather high. In many cases identical results could be achieved with offset cylinders at a fraction of the cost. This is particularly interesting for short runs, when there are many changes or when an industry involves a great number of different patterns like the wallpaper business for instance. It is not longer necessary to keep on stock thousands of cylinders for reprint since it is easier and more economical to keep the collection on films and prepare a new cylinder when necessary.
