Summary:

Although electronic register has been installed on rotary presses for quite some time now, the rapid evolution of techniques is constantly triggering new and better concepts of the mechanisms involved, thus resulting in faster make-ready and reduced waste. A couple of these original improvements have been added to the already outstanding features of their equipment by Control et Automation, a French company subsidiary of Machines Chambon. The first of these is a Gate Computer, a computerized and remote way to set and control visually on a screen the reading gap of each of the scanning heads. The second is an automatic sorting out of the faulty impression. These improvements are described.
