Heat Transfer Printing, A New Dimension in the Graphic Arts.

The heat transfer process of printing fabric is a relatively new area within the graphic arts. Initially only gravure was used, but now, flexo and rotary screens have entered the continuous market to produce piece goods. Offset is supplying the discontinuous business of engineered designs (where one motif fills the entire printed area). The paper describes the process of heat transfer, presents the advantages and disadvantages found with it, and mentions some of the equipment utilized.
