Continuing Evolution of Electronic Publishing.

Abstract: At the 1980 TAGA conference, we reviewed the status of digital prepress, as we saw it at the time (Reference 1). This presentation attempts to extend the 1980 presentation, discuss developments since that meeting, and offer further insight on the inevitable progress towards electronic publishing During the past year several new forces have come to bear on the historic high quality graphic arts market and these are also considered in the presentation.
