ANPA's ANPAPRESS Concept.

Rapid technological change in newspaper production, soaring newsprint costs, OSHA regulations and new distribution methods have led to the development of the ANPAPRESS by the technical staff of the Research Center of the American Newspaper Publishers Association/Research Institute (ANPA/RI). The press is an adaptation of the flexographic principle to newspaper; production, and can reduce hardware costs, improve image quality, nearly eliminate startup waste, reduce energy requirements and lower maintenance time. This article tells of the press's development, field testing and manufacture.
