Summary:

Mask characteristics computed in function of solid ink densities are often found to product either over- or under-correction in terms of printed END ink amounts. The concept of Floating Coefficients presented here accounts for the proportionality failure inherent to halftone reproduction systems, whereas the additivity failure of process colour inks is compensated for by adjusting the original densities accordingly.
