A Miniature Test Form for Press Evaluation.

This paper describes a new test form and procedure designed for the efficient evaluation of individual printing units. This new test form has the following features: 1) Small, compact size; 2) Pleasing, symmetrical design when printed; 3) Contains sufficient halftone test areas for determining the printing characteristic curve plus dot-gain and slur information. Special graph paper for plotting and interpreting the data is also described. A simple, one-step procedure is described which provides the information necessary to adjust the halftone screening operation for optimum tone reproduction.
