Summary:

Considerable planning time and raw materials are expended in the printing industry reproducing multiple-images (gang runs) on press equipment. Apparently there is no generally-accepted single technique for resolving this problem. An iterative algorithm has been developed which attempts to achieve cost-minimization goals by reducing the necessity for intuitive or trial and error calculations. By using this algorithm, an operator can write a program to run on a small table top calculator with 1K storage or a micro, mini, or general purpose computer.
