Government Affairs

Printing Industries of America advocates before Congress, the White House, and federal agencies for a member-driven public policy agenda that benefits and protects America's printing and graphic communications industry. Printing Industries of America also seeks to raise the industry's political visibility on Capitol Hill through grassroots advocacy, an annual legislative fly-in event, and PrintPAC, the only political action committee dedicated solely to representing the political interests of the printing and graphic communications industry. Through the Government Affairs department, Printing Industries of America keeps its membership abreast of key legislative and political developments affecting the industry.

Print & Packaging Legislative Summit

Join your peers in packaging and print as we address our legislators as one industry with one voice. The Print & Packaging Legislative Summit co-hosted by AICC, the Independent Packaging Association, Fibre Box Association (FBA), and Printing Industries of America (PIA) will take place Tuesday, June 20 and Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Washington DC. This year we will again partner with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) for their 2017 Manufacturing Summit.

This signature government affairs event will bring printers, packagers, suppliers and allied interests together for a powerful program of public policy and political education, issue advocacy, interaction with Members of Congress, and networking events on Capitol Hill. Recommended attendees are Presidents/CEOs and other C-Suite executives with responsibility for environmental/health and safety, human resources, legal, postal, tax, technology and/or sales. The highlights of the legislative summit are in-person industry lobbying meetings on Capitol Hill that allow you to take your company's story directly to decision-makers in Congress.

With the new Administration in power, now is the time to stand united and voice your support for legislation that benefits the domestic manufacturing base, improves the North American competitive climate, puts America back to work, and keeps it working.

PrintPAC is an ongoing endeavor. Resources are dedicated to supporting campaigns and elections and also to building and maintaining solid political relationships with lawmakers. It's critical that PIA members utilize PrintPAC as a way to continually educate lawmakers about the challenges and opportunities facing our industry. PrintPAC allows industry leaders to join together to accomplish this goal.

The Government Affairs department is focused on issues related to postal policy, tax policy, environmental/energy policy, labor and employee benefits policy, and immigration policy. Printing Industries of America devotes its legislative and political capital to achieve success in these key areas.
